Last month we celebrated my Ph.D. graduation and Mother's Day with Grandma Marilyn and Grandpa David.

A Visit from Karen, Doug, and Ellie... and a Haircut!

Karen, Doug, and Ellie came to visit during the first weekend in May. Doug is a photographer, and he took lots of great photos of everyone. We enjoyed a trip to Carrburitos, a Carnival at Livia's daycare, and some fun at our local museum.

Livia also had her first professional haircut that weekend. I took her to one of those children's hair places, where she could ride in a little car and play with toys. She actually did really well-- she only threw a fit when it was time to leave because she wanted to play with the trains all day.

The cooperation did involve some snacks. Livia said "snack" for the first time while we were there.
