This weekend we took Livia to one of our favorite local getaways, Carolina Beach. We love to stay at the Courtyard by Marriott because it is right on the ocean-- every room has a balcony overlooking the water and the view from the bed by the window makes it look like you are sleeping right on top of the ocean. It was a quick trip, but we enjoyed a nice walk on the beach and a great seafood meal (even if Dan and I didn't actually sit at the table together for very long during the meal-- we kept thinking Livia would fall asleep but she had other plans). The only glitch was that Livia also experienced her first tornado threat while we were there. We did leave our top floor room at one point to venture down to the lobby, but after a few minutes (and the realization that we were the only ones who appeared concerned, when the two other people in the lobby with us were busy watching the basketball game) we decided that we would be okay. This morning we stopped in Wilmington on the way home to have brunch with Laura, Jeff, and Luke in their new house, but unfortunately we forgot to break out the camera.

LOVE the pix! I can't believe Livia is 5 months old already!! Where did the time go?! I was inspired by your post--now I want to take Kaden to the beach since he's never been. Can't wait to see you guys!

O.K. you are getting back at me. I always call from the beach and make you jealous. What great pictures of Livia with her Mommy and Daddy enjoying the beach. Here we go again, I'm putting them on my digital frame. Thanks guys!
I just noticed this post, is that an Ergo baby carrier Livia is being carried in? I'm a fan, they are great aren't they?!
