Hanging out in May

Here are some photos from the past few weeks. Summer is officially here in NC... we have had several 90+ degree days over the past week or two. We tried to battle the heat with a swim the other day, but Livia wasn't too excited about it. Every time we tried to dip her toes in the water she would SCREAM. It took about 30 minutes to get ready to go to the pool, between finding the bathing suit, hat, and swim diaper, applying sunscreen, and packing all of our stuff. We stayed there about 5 minutes. We did go out for ice cream after though, so we managed to cool off and salvage the afternoon.

Livia now eats about 15 different purees. She is still trying to crawl but hasn't quite mastered it yet, beyond inching around a little. She can get up on her hands and knees but usually she keeps her head dragging on the ground. Luckily she can get wherever she wants by rolling anyway.

I love the way Livia looks so happy in the last picture! She is so adorable!!! The weather in Savannah is getting into the 90's too and our pool has become our salvation. That and the beach.
I do miss NC though :)

Ha! Funny about 30 minutes of prep time for 5 minutes of pool time. :) At least you got a great photo!

Gabriella and I especially love the bathing suit shot! Hopefully Livia will develop a love for the water by the time we see you in D.C. If not, she can spend her time poolside with Alexey. Last time we checked the water made him scream as well.

Grandma Mari Says:

Livia and Alexey need their grandmother to take them swimming. We'll see about that in Washington.

I remember Bobby at 18 months old when I had to drop him head first into the pool for a swimming lesson. He didn't like that much either. He was completely afraid of the water after that.

Interestingly, he became a life guard later on as a teenager. Who would have thought that would happen!

Great pics! Isn't that the truth about getting ready for the pool! Let's try to get the girls together for a dip in July!

Sharyn and Dan,

I know it is probably crazy of me but I LOVE the pictures od Livia with Cassidy. There is such a love there and I have to laugh about your first swimming story....of course she woulsd be interested for 5 minutes! One time we took our twin grandsons age 3 to the Met game and after they had ice cream and saw Mr.Met they wanted to go home. The game was not the issue- but understand now that they are 14 all the want to do is play baseball and watch The Mets nonstop so thingschange.... Love KAthy
