Asheville

A couple of weeks ago we went on a family trip to Asheville (Cassidy went on her own vacation to Camp Bow Wow - her lodging actually cost more than ours if you break it down per person/dog so we don't want anyone to think she was deprived of a nice weekend away). The first thing that Dan, Livia, and I did was to go apple picking in Hendersonville. It was really hot, about 95 degrees, which just didn't seem right for apple picking when you are used to picking them in the New England fall. We picked 20 pounds of apples, which we are still working our way through.

You can see the mountains in the background

After picking apples, we spent some time in Asheville. We had dinner at a nice vegetarian restaurant downtown. Livia was not very interested in the zucchini.

The next day we went on a hike in Dupont National Forest to see some waterfalls. Livia was actually in this photo, but she was on Dan's back.

Livia fell asleep at the beginning of the hike and missed all of the views of the waterfalls.

Here Livia is enjoying some yogurt in the hotel room

If you were to ask Livia about her favorite part of the weekend, she would probably tell you that she loved standing at the sliding glass door of our hotel room. It had a view of the pool and also a golf course that was under construction. Livia had a lot to say to the people outside.

When we got home she started standing at the window overlooking our backyard, but I don't think it is quite as interesting.

What a fun (and beautiful) family trip! Livia always looks so cute and happy in pictures :) Makes me smile thinking of how much fun she must be having!
