Animals with Grandma Marilyn and Grandpa David

A couple of weeks ago, Grandma Marilyn and Grandpa David made a last minute trip to see us. They wanted to spend Grandpa David's birthday with us, which was also the anniversary of Aunt Diane's death. It was not an easy day for anyone.

Over the weekend, we saw a lot of animals. First we went to our local museum, which has some animals outside. Livia LOVED seeing the sheep. She went up to it and said, "Baa, baa." We tried to see some other animals, but Livia ran back over to the sheep and screamed, "BAAAAAAAA, BAAAAAAAA!". She even put her leg through the fence. The sheep just looked at her and didn't say anything.

The next day we went to the North Carolina zoo. Unfortunately, we didn't take many photos of the animals. It was a long trip out there, and Livia was very cranky. She shrieked whenever she didn't get her way, and she threw a category 5 temper tantrum when I did not let her pick up a piece of garbage in the food court area. We later realized that she was getting sick and her eye teeth were also starting to break through. Thankfully the shrieking stopped once she started feeling better. We look forward to returning to the zoo when Livia is in a better mood, and hopefully we will get better photos. We did have an unexpected encounter with Melanie, Kevin, and Malachi. Livia had one of her best moments of the day when we stopped to talk to them and she said, "Hiiiiiiiiiii". She also enjoyed a brief trip on Dan's shoulders.

The next day we enjoyed a brief romp in the backyard

I think it's great you have tantrum's scaled like a hurricane. Hope you're all doing well!

ha, love the description of the "category 5" temper tantrum!! Oh how we can relate to that! :)

Yes, it was our worst tantrum yet. Enough kicking and screaming to have about 200 people turn to stare, wondering if they were witnessing a kidnapping.

Totally understand..we got through that everytime we have to leave the swing at the playground when it is time to go home!
